Guidance and Support for Women with a Migration Background – Step by Step into Employment and Participation
Have you come to Germany and have questions about work, training, or settling into everyday life? The project “Sie weiß Bescheid” (roughly: “She Knows Her Way Around”) run by the Saxon Refugee Council (Sächsischer Flüchtlingsrat e.V.) supports women with refugee and migration experience on their path into employment, education, and social inclusion in Germany.
We provide individual counseling and support – for example with job applications, language courses, dealings with authorities, or the recognition of qualifications. We also offer workshops on career orientation, exchange, and empowerment.
A special focus is placed on low-threshold, mobile services in Chemnitz as well as in Zwickau, Mittelsachsen, and the Erzgebirgskreis. Counseling can also take place at women’s meeting spaces and community centers – in a trusting atmosphere geared toward the needs of participants.
The project is based on a three-pillar model:
- Individual counseling on qualifications, career paths, and residence status
- Support in contact with employers and authorities
- Group activities on labor market orientation, exchange, and empowerment
Our goal is to strengthen women, open up new perspectives, and accompany them on their own individual path. If you are a migrant woman interested in our counseling and support, or would like further information, we are happy to serve as a point of contact.
